He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 ) He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1913 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 30 October 1914.3 He gained the rank of Captain on 2 June 1915 in the 7th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Buckmaster [U.K., 1933] on 5 December 1934.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Buckmaster, of Cheddington, co. Buckingham [U.K., 1915] on 5 December 1934.2 He was a member of the Committee of the London Stock Exchange between 1938 and 1942.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Home Guard.1
