     He lived at Bettsworth Castle, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was educated in 1547 at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.²

     Sir Matthew Browne was born circa 1476 at Betchworth Castle, Surrey, England.² He was the son of Sir George Browne and Elizabeth Paston.^1,2 He married Frideswide Guildford, daughter of Sir Richard Guildford and Anne Pympe.² He died on 30 July 1543.²

     Sir George Browne was born in 1439 at Beechworth, Surrey, England^G.² He was the son of Sir Thomas Browne and Eleanor Fitzalan.¹ He married Elizabeth Paston, daughter of William Paston and Agnes Berry, in 1471.³ He died on 4 December 1483 at Tower Hill, London, England, beheaded.³
     He lived at Bettsworth Castle, Surrey, England^G.¹ He took part in Buckingham’s Rebellion.³

     Elizabeth Adam was the daughter of William Adam.¹ She married Sir Ambrose Browne, 1st Bt., son of Sir Matthew Browne and Jane Vincent, on 1 October 1607 at Fulmere, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ She died circa October 1657.¹ She was buried on 19 October 1657 at Dorking, Surrey, England^G.¹ She died intestate and her estate was administered to her son, Sir Adam Browne, Bt. on 19 December 1661.¹
     From 1 October 1607, her married name became Browne.¹
