     He was educated at Sydney Grammar School, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.¹ He lived in 2003 at 112 Narrabean Park Parade, Warriewood, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] on 17 March 2007.

     Alexandra Lavender Broun was born on 16 May 2002.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Wayne Hercules Broun, 14th Bt. and Caroline Mary Lavender.¹

     Robyn Joy Broun was born on 19 July 1948.¹ She is the daughter of Hulance Haddington Broun and Joy Maud Stack.¹ She married Cedric Hoare in 1974.¹
     From 1974, her married name became Hoare.¹
