     He was a grocer at London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Alderman of London between 23 May 1750 and 20 June 1769.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of London from 1753 to 1754.¹ He was appointed Knight on 8 June 1759 at Kensington, London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1760 to 1761.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Blakiston, of London [Great Britain] on 22 April 1763.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Green Regiment of the London Militia.¹

     George Blakiston was baptised on 10 June 1675.² He was the son of George Blakiston and Mary Bourchier.²

     Annabella Bayley was the daughter of Thomas Bayley and Bridget Dixie.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Matthew Blakiston, 1st Bt., son of George Blakiston and Elizabeth Kay, on 8 April 1760 at St. John’s, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Hugh Cane on 25 August 1776.¹ She died on 9 June 1783 at Winterton, Berkshire, England^G.¹
