     Major Robert Evelyn Russell Smallwood is the son of Maj.-Gen. Gerald Russell Smallwood. He married Jane Henrietta Birkmyre, daughter of Sir Henry Birkmyre, 2nd Bt. and Doris Gertrude Smith, on 23 September 1952 at Holy Trinity, Brompton, London, England.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Rosemary Jane Smallwood was born on 18 January 1954.¹ She is the daughter of Major Robert Evelyn Russell Smallwood and Jane Henrietta Birkmyre.¹ She married Andrew Peter Geoffrey Holmes, son of Brigadier Leonard Geoffrey Holmes and Gladys Mary Black, in 1977.¹
