     From after 1 March 1562, her married name became Melville.

     From after 28 December 1567, her married name became Guthrie.

     Margaret Carmichael is the daughter of John Carmichael of Meadowflat.¹ She married Sir Archibald Douglas, 1st of Glenbervie, son of Sir William Douglas and Elizabeth Auchinleck, circa 28 January 1553/54.¹
     From circa 28 January 1553/54, her married name became Douglas.

     She was also known as Mary Irvine.³ From after 1555, her married name became Douglas.
