     He was educated at Bradfield School, England^G.¹ He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1901 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1902 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Chaplain between 1914 and 1918 in the Australian Imperial Forces.¹ He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1929 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was the Chaplain between 1929 and 1934 at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was the Rector between 1935 and 1948 at Great Rollwright, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He wrote the book Human Ideals, The Ethics of the Gospel, Civilisation Remade by Christ, The Theory of Christ’s Ethics and the Future of Life.¹

     Gertrude Lucie Burke was the daughter of George John Burke.¹ She married Reverend Frederick Augustus Morland Spencer, son of Reverend Charles Vere Spencer and Emma Frederica à Court Gray, on 3 June 1913.¹ She died on 4 October 1970.¹
     From 3 June 1913, her married name became Spencer.

     George John Burke died before 1980.

     Marion Gertrude Spencer was born on 15 January 1916.¹ She is the daughter of Reverend Frederick Augustus Morland Spencer and Gertrude Lucie Burke.¹ She married Kenneth Ninian Hoare, son of F. E. Hoare, on 18 June 1940.¹ She and Kenneth Ninian Hoare were divorced in 1971.¹
     From 18 June 1940, her married name became Hoare. She lived in 1999 at 9 Sympson Close, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Kenneth Ninian Hoare was born in 1916.² He was the son of F. E. Hoare. He married, firstly, Marion Gertrude Spencer, daughter of Reverend Frederick Augustus Morland Spencer and Gertrude Lucie Burke, on 18 June 1940.¹ He and Marion Gertrude Spencer were divorced in 1971.¹ He married, secondly, Daphne Josephine Lubbock.² He died on 13 March 2008.²
     He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)²

     Gillian Sheila Hoare was born on 19 September 1947.¹ She is the daughter of Kenneth Ninian Hoare and Marion Gertrude Spencer.¹ She married Richard James Kenneth Button on 22 May 1971.¹
     She lived in 1999 at Jeddah Islamic Port, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia^G.¹

     Richard James Kenneth Button married Gillian Sheila Hoare, daughter of Kenneth Ninian Hoare and Marion Gertrude Spencer, on 22 May 1971.¹

     Daniel Mark Button was born on 13 March 1983.¹ He was the son of Richard James Kenneth Button and Gillian Sheila Hoare.¹ He died on 1 August 1987 at age 4.¹

     Sarah Nicola Button was born on 6 November 1971.¹ She is the daughter of Richard James Kenneth Button and Gillian Sheila Hoare.¹
